Central to the life of Christ's church is the gathered assembly of His people to worship Him in spirit and in truth. For millennia the church has met on Sunday to celebrate our Lord's resurrection on the first day of the week.
Psalm 150:2 instructs us to worship God for His mighty deeds and according to His excellent greatness. The Psalmist also exhorts us to use brass, strings, pipes, percussion and singing to praise our Lord.
Here at West Cannon we seek to emulate those commands from God. Our goal is to speak worship with clarity and with quality so that Christ's redeemed can respond to God for who He is and what He has done. More than honoring mere musical styles, we seek to express our love and adoration to our Savior and King in an authentic and committed way.
“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Colossians 3:16).
We use a blended style of worship by utilizing various styles of music from historic hymns of the faith to modern songs of worship. Our goal is to extol the name of Christ and to un-eclipse Him in our lives. We seek to thoughtfully reinforce the teachings of scripture and to admonish each other towards holy living.
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in Him” (Psalm 40:3).
