We welcome you to West Cannon Baptist Church. We are a people united by a common Savior, a common authority, and a common purpose. Let us explain.
We are united through our relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Having recognized our sinfulness and our inability to meet God’s righteous demands, we placed our faith in the subsitutionary, sacrificial, and sufficient death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our hope for eternity is not found in our goodness, but in the righteousness of Christ.
Secondly, we are united in a common authority: the Bible. We firmly believe that the Bible is inspired by God and reveals all we need to know about God, ourselves, and how to please Him. Therefore, we make every effort to understand and implement the teachings of this incredible book.
Finally, we are united by a common purpose: to worship God acceptably, to edify and encourage one another to personal holiness, and to proclaim to a lost world, through word and deed, the good news of Jesus Christ.
